Starlight Drive
Words by Myles O Reilly
The Garden
The Flowers
The Scent of the day
Everything offers reminders
you're so far away
The Oceans horizons
The Swell of the tide
The body of water
between us
as eve becomes night
You'll find me in your dreams
asleep where you lie
in the half-light
So close your eyes
This is our lullabye
A whisper goodnight
in the starlight
It's uncommon
the soul-ache
of missing you near
I'ts part of the make-up
of each day
It's routine I fear
Like footsteps and traffic
Machine Cog and wheel
The thought of the distance
between us
is only until..
You find me in your dreams
assleep where you lie
in the half-light
So close your eyes
This is our lullabye
A whisper goodnight
A starlight Drive
I was missing someone a lot and was having all kinds of astral aspirations to see them again. Those moments as you close your eyes, that you wish you could control the course of your dreams.
As I translated those feeling into words, it began to sound like a lullaby, even a nursery rymhe. Then the rest just wrote itself..
A soundtrack for those dreams you hold as dear as memories.
