Words by Myles O Reilly
Sing it to the sun
sing it to the sun and moon
Carry carry home
what you would of this life
Sing it for the years
the ears of a newly born
Hurry hurry make
what you will of this life
Sing if you're an African hero
Or if you're an Irish soldier
Or an American trailer park junkie
Your song is your own
Sing it to the earth
the birth of a new day
Marry marry faith
where you will in this life
Sing it to the birds
the flame of a fallen name
Hare hare sing
what you would in its light
Sing if you're a Japanese waiter
Or an Italian tailor
Or an American trailer park junkie
Your song is your own
A song is always in the words
A song is always in the heart that
makes it heard
Sing it to the sun,
sing it to the sun and moon
Carry carry home
what you would of this life
Your song is your own
Each has a song of their own
This was the second last song we wrote and recorded.
It was feeling as if though the record needed an 'anthem'.
This song is your own is kind of a reflection of just how positive
an experience it was to have wrote and recorded our first album in Schull and in doing so, discovering a new found higher 'love' and 'faith' in music. Kind of religious eh?
